Preservé™ Technique

A refined, patient-centred approach to breast augmentation

Breast augmentation

At MD Aesthetics we are pleased to be able to offer the Preservé Breast Augmentation technique, an advanced and minimally invasive approach now available with Mr Marcus Davis. This innovative method preserves the natural breast tissues (ligaments, nerves, blood vessels) by using specialised tools to gently create space for the implant, reducing trauma during surgery.

Perservé can be performed under local anaesthetic, with or without sedation, offering a quicker recovery with less swelling than the traditional method, with many patients returning to work within 1–2 days. The procedure uses high-quality Motiva implants and is ideal for those seeking natural results with minimal disruption to daily life.

Breast Implants

Enhance your confidence with breast implants, offering natural-looking results tailored to you.

Fat grafting (lipofilling)

The Benefits of Tissue Preservation

Preserve Your Breast Anatomy

Preservé™ works in harmony with your natural tissues, avoiding unnecessary cutting or removal. The breast tissue is gently redistributed around the SmoothSilk® Ergonomix2® implant, resulting in a naturally integrated look and feel.

Preserve Softness

This less invasive approach protects the natural support structures of the breast. Combined with the low-inflammatory properties of SmoothSilk® implants, it helps minimise scarring and promote faster, more comfortable recovery.

Preserve Stability

By preserving key structures such as the pectoral muscle, the breast retains its stability and positioning. Clinical studies show zero cases of implant drop (inferior malposition) at three years, demonstrating long-term support.

Preserve Peace of Mind

SmoothSilk® surfaces are designed to minimise tissue irritation and inflammation. There’s no evidence of BIA-ALCL, and patients benefit from the Woman’s Choice Program®, which offers financial support in the unlikely event of dissatisfaction or complications.

Frequently asked questions

Preservé breast augmentation is an advanced, minimally invasive surgical technique that places breast implants in a way that preserves the internal tissues of the breast by stretching, through the use of specialised tools, rather than cutting the internal structures (ligaments, blood vessels, nerves) thereby maintaining the internal ‘bra’ of the breast to support the implant. This approach reduces trauma to surrounding tissues, leading to less swelling, reduced post-operative discomfort, and a quicker return to normal activities. Preservé breast augmentation is often performed under local anaesthetic with or without sedation.

Mr Marcus Davis has trained extensively in this technique and now offers it as part of our wider breast augmentation options.

Preservé breast augmentation is ideal for patients who:

  • Are looking for natural-feeling results
  • Prefer a minimally invasive approach
  • Want to avoid general anaesthetic
  • Have an active lifestyle and need a quick recovery
  • May be returning to work or parenting duties shortly after surgery

Mr Davis will assess suitability during your one-to-one consultation.

Whether you’re considering your first augmentation or exploring a revision procedure, the Motiva Preservé™ Technique may be your ideal choice.

At MD Aesthetics, your consultation with Marcus Davis includes a full assessment of your goals, body type, and lifestyle — ensuring a bespoke surgical plan with your wellbeing at its core.

Preservé offers multiple advantages over traditional breast enlargement methods:

  • Faster recovery – Most patients return to work within 1–2 days
  • Less pain – Many require only paracetamol for discomfort
  • Minimal swelling and bruising
  • No animation deformity – No unnatural movement when chest muscles flex
  • Can be Performed under local anaesthetic – Avoid general anaesthesia
  • Natural results

Mr Marcus Davis is an experienced consultant cosmetic surgeon with a specialist interest in aesthetic breast surgery. Known for his patient-centred approach and precision techniques, Mr Davis offers the Preservé method with full attention to detail and post-operative care.

What to Expect from the Procedure

Preservé breast augmentation is typically performed as a day-case procedure. Most patients can return home within a couple of hours, with light activity resumed almost immediately. Unlike traditional augmentation, there’s minimal disruption to the breast tissues, meaning less inflammation and quicker healing.

During your consultation, Mr Davis will walk you through all implant options, including size, shape, and profile to ensure your results meet your expectations. Motiva’s Ergonomix2® range, used in Preservé, is known for its natural movement and feel, even when lying down or moving dynamically.

The size of your implants is dependent upon several factors, all of which will be discussed with you during your consultation(s). These include:

  • The kind of ‘look’ you are after – natural or augmented
  • The dimensions of your chest
  • The amount of native tissues you have to cover and accommodate an implant
  • Amount of redundant tissue you have that requires filling

In clinic a range of sizes will be recommended based upon the above factors. You will also get the opportunity to try on a breast sizing kit in clinic should you wish, giving you a feel of size and weight of potential implant volumes. In your own time you can always use the ‘rice test’ at home (see separate sheet).

The ultimate decision is yours – Mr Davis is there to simply advise and guide you.

The Motiva Preservé™ Technique is a refined surgical method that combines advanced planning, gentle tissue handling, and cutting-edge implant technology. Every step is designed to prioritise your comfort, safety, and recovery.

1. Bespoke Surgical Planning

Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation. Marcus Davis will assess:

  • Your anatomy and body proportions

  • Skin quality and breast tissue

  • Your lifestyle, goals, and preferences

Using this information, he’ll recommend a tailored surgical plan — including implant size, shape (typically Motiva Ergonomix®), and placement.

2. Anaesthesia and Minimal Incision

The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia in a fully accredited hospital.

  • A small, discreet incision is made — usually in the inframammary fold (beneath the breast) for optimal concealment and access.

  • Incisions with the Preservé™ Technique are typically shorter than traditional methods, helping to reduce visible scarring.

3. Atraumatic Tissue Handling

Unlike older approaches that can stretch or tear tissue:

  • The Preservé™ method uses gentle dissection tools and techniques to separate layers with precision.

  • This reduces internal trauma, bleeding, and swelling — leading to a smoother, less painful recovery.

4. No-Touch, Closed-System Implant Insertion

Sterility is critical. With the Motiva Preservé™ Technique:

  • The implant is delivered using a “no-touch” method, often with a device like the Motiva Sleeve® or Keller Funnel®, within a closed system.

  • This minimises exposure to the skin or external environment — dramatically reducing infection risk and improving implant positioning.

5. Meticulous Implant Placement

Depending on your body and plan:

  • The implant is positioned either beneath the chest muscle (dual-plane) or above it (subglandular).

  • Marcus Davis will choose the placement that provides the most natural result and supports your long-term comfort.

6. Closure & Recovery Support

The incisions are closed with fine, layered suturing for an aesthetically pleasing result.

  • A supportive garment is provided, and aftercare instructions are reviewed thoroughly.

  • Patients often go home the same day and experience less bruising, minimal discomfort, and faster recovery than with conventional methods.

You will be required to wear a non-underwired post-surgical support bra (Mr Davis advocates LipoElastic® garments ) for a period of at least six weeks. If you have your implant inserted underneath your muscle then you will also be required to wear a breast band over the top so as to encourage the implants to drop down – they will initially sit high when placed under the muscle. We also advocate Macom.

You will be encouraged to shower one day after surgery, however you are to dab your breasts dry, let them dry naturally or to use your hairdryer on a cool setting to blow them dry – you are NOT to rub your breasts for one month after surgery.

After two weeks you will be asked to apply moisturiser over your scar on a daily basis for a period of three months.

You will come for a wound check one week after your surgery and return to see Mr Davis in clinic six weeks, and three months routinely after surgery – or earlier if required. Further follow-ups will be arranged as necessary.

If you’re considering breast augmentation and want to explore the latest, minimally invasive methods, Preservé Breast Augmentation may be the perfect choice. With Mr Marcus Davis now offering this technique at MD Aesthetics, you can benefit from expert care, fast recovery, and natural-looking results.
